Setup
Gather a group of at least three players. One person ("wordmaster") thinks of a word ("target word") and the objective of the other players (“guessers”) is to guess the target word.
How to Play
The wordmaster tells everyone the first letter of the target word. The guessers' objective at this stage is to get the wordmaster to give them the second letter of the target word. They do this by coming up with other words (“guess word”) that start with the same letter the wordmaster gave them. Eg. Wordmaster thought of the word “magic” so the first letter is ‘M’. Guessers will think of any word that starts with M. Once someone thought of a guess word that starts with M, that person has to get other guessers to say the guess word with them at the same time. To do this, the person who thought of a word will give a hint. Eg. The guesser thought of “mountain”. He says “You can climb this”. Other guessers will try to think of a word that matches the hint and that starts with the same letter as the target word. When someone thinks of a word, they should yell “Contact!”. The person who gave the hint then starts counting down 3, 2, 1. The person who gave the hint, the person who called out “Contact!” and the wordmaster must yell out the word they are thinking of. At this point, 2 things can happen: The wordmaster must interfere the contact by saying the guess word with the word “Not”. Eg. say “Not mountain”. If the wordmaster is not able interfere correctly, they must give up the second letter of the target word. Eg. “A” is the second letter of “magic” Other guessers must guess the guess word correctly and yell it out loud. Eg. “Mountain”. If they guessed wrong, the wordmaster does not have to give up any letters of the target word. If the wordmaster had to give up the next letter, the guessers must come up with hints that match both letters given already. Eg. “Market” for “M-A” If the wordmaster did not have to give the next letter, the game continues. The guessers must keep giving hints until they can guess the target word correctly.
