Setup

Prepare enough pieces of paper for all players to receive one. Mark all the pieces of paper with the words “Victim”, except for three. Mark two with the words “Detective” and mark one with the words “Murderer”. Note. if you have 4 or less players, have one detective only. Each player randomly draws a piece of paper to determine if they are a victim, detective, or murderer. Make sure they keep their identities a secret! Players can either sit in a circle or walk around the room.

How to Play

All players make constant eye contact with different people throughout the game, typically holding eye contact for around 3-5 seconds with each person. The murderer will clearly wink with one eye, at one player at a time to murder them. If the murderer winks at you, you must die by falling to the ground (the more dramatic the better). The detective’s job is to try and catch the murderer winking before all the victims are dead. Note, detectives can also get murdered if the murderer winks at them. When the murderer is caught by the detective the victims and detectives win the round. But if the murderer kills all the victims before getting caught, the murderer wins. Continue playing multiple rounds, taking turns in different roles.
