HOW TO PLAY

THE DEAL

Everyone gets a secret word. Civilians see 'Apple'. You see 'Pear'.

THE DESCRIPTION

Go around the circle. Everyone gives one clue. You have to blend in with the Civilians.

THE VOTE

Time's up. Everyone votes on their phone for who they think is lying. Majority gets eliminated.

THE LOOP

If you survive the vote, the game continues. Round 2 begins with harder clues until only one side is left.

Caught? You Can Still Win.

If the Civilians vote you out, the game isn't over. You have one last shot: The Golden Guess. Correctly guess the Civilians' word (e.g., 'Apple') to steal the victory instantly.

About the Game

Everyone is given the same word, but one person is given a slightly different word, known as the 'Mr. White' word. Each player takes turns describing their word with a single word, while trying to avoid giving away their secret identity as the Mr. White player. The other players must use their detective skills to figure out who has the different word, and vote on who they think the Mr. White player is. Will you be able to fool your friends and uncover who is Mr. White?

How many people do you need to play Mr White?

Mr White works best with 4-10 players. Smaller groups make the odd player easier to spot, while bigger groups create more room for bluffing.

What is the best strategy in Mr White?

Give clues that are specific enough to prove you know your word, but not so specific that Mr White can copy you or guess the secret.

Yes. Mr White works well on video calls because each player can get a private role on their own device and discuss clues out loud.
