Setup
Prepare a soft ball like a dodgeball, beach ball, or one made out of foam. You’ll need an open space large enough for everyone to move freely in a circle. Assign a player to be the “Dictator” and another one or two people to be the “Bodyguard(s)” depending on the number of players. Have all the other players, the citizens, form a circle around the dictator and bodyguard. Assign a player to start the game and give them the ball.
How to Play
The starting player throws the ball trying to hit the dictator. The bodyguard stands in front of the dictator and tries to deflect all attacks by using their arms and their body as a human shield. The bodyguard can be hit by the ball but not the dictator. The citizens can also pass the ball around them to have a better shot at the dictator. When the dictator is hit, they become a citizen and their bodyguard becomes the dictator. The player who hit the dictator then becomes the bodyguard. The dictator team wins if they can survive for 2 minutes without gettting hit (optional rule).6. Play multiple rounds, until all players get a turn to be citizens, dictators, and bodyguards.
