Setup
Choose one person who will hold the press conference to leave the room. The remaining group then must collectively decide who that person will be when he/she comes back into the room. This needs to be a person that all the guests know something about. For example, a famous person, fictional character, or a mutual friend that everybody knows something about. Once the group has decided, have the person come back into the room and stand in front of the group like they are holding a press conference. It helps if they act the part like saying “Thank you very much for coming here…” etc. The rest of the group can also play the role of the journalists by taking photographs, and excitedly putting up their hands to ask the next question, for example, “Sir! John from the Daily Grind here…”.
How to Play
Any of the journalist players can put their hand up to ask their question and the player holding the press conference points to the journalist who can ask their question (just like a real press conference). The question will be something about the person whom they are supposed to be. For example, if the person is supposed to be Niel Armstrong, then a journalist's question might be “Hi, Jim Bush from The Daily Times. “What did it feel like up there?”. The player holding the press conference then must give an answer, pretending they know who they are. For example “It felt great, highly recommended”. The game continues like this as the journalists ask a series of questions until the player holding the press conference correctly guesses who they are based on the questions. Note, ideally questions should be creative and help the player figure out who they are, but also not give it away too easily. Tip: For an added challenge you can set a time limit to guess correctly.
